What is a Pre-recorded Video interview?
A pre-recorded video interview (often also called a One-way video interview or an Asynchronous video interview) is an interview type where the Employer sets up a series of questions they want to ask the candidates as a part of the job posting. And you (the candidate) have to complete the interview by recording your answers to those questions in a video when you apply to that job.
So how exactly does it work?
It’s very simple. All you need is a computer with a webcam (most laptops already have one) or a smartphone that has a camera in it. Once you click on the link in the email you received, click on the “Interview now” button on the top right to start the interview. You will go through a process where you test your camera and microphone and after that, you are ready to rock. Read the question carefully and hit “Start recording” when you want to start recording your response. Click “Finish Recording” when you are done recording. You have the option to review your recording and retry if you feel like you made a mistake. Once you are done with all the questions, you will get a confirmation that your application was successful. Voila! That is all.
I have never done this before and I am a little nervous.
