Try a practice question

Before the actual interview starts, you will be shown a Practice Question. You can record yourself and play it back - this is a good way to ensure your responses look and sound great before you get to the actual interview questions. The practice question isn’t a part of the actual interview and won’t be sent to the employer or recruiter.

Do the actual interview

Go through each question carefully. Some of the questions may come with a limited ‘think time’, some of the questions may or may not allow retakes, depending on the settings set by your employer or recruiter. We also advise you to pay attention to the maximum duration allowed for a response so you can finish your response within the given time frame.

When you’ve completed the interview, click Finish to submit your interview.

Video Interview Tips

It’s no different than any other interview

Treat a video interview like any other interview. This includes preparing for the interview and dressing as you would for any other interview - in-person, live, or pre-recorded. Research the job and the company and think about how your skills align with the role.

Ensure good lighting and fast internet

Choose a place where your face is lit from the front. Avoid sitting with a bright object (window, light, etc.) directly behind you. Ensure you have a fast and reliable internet connection to avoid any lags during the recording of the interview.

Practice before you begin

You have the option of recording a practice video response. Practice out loud as many times as you want until you’re satisfied with the video and audio quality. If you’re new to this interviewing format, practicing can be a great way to get a hang of it.

Be the star that you’re

In a video interview, you’re the star. Sit in the center of the frame - you should be the focus. Avoid sitting in an overly cluttered area as it can be distracting to the evaluator. Above all, relax and be your authentic self!
